miWisdom today… When one is angry, that anger is only the external manifestation of a hidden self-conscious emotion trying to express itself, trying to get noticed, while seeking healing, comfort and support.
Instead of getting upset at others because of their anger, it is best to try and understand them, to get a sense as to where they might be hurting, a sense for their hidden pain which is in actuality manifesting externally into angry and potentially hurtful emotions.
The next time a person responds to you in an angry and abrupt manner, ask yourself the following questions:
- What is the underlying message that they are trying to express?
- What are they really trying to say on an unconscious level?
- Where is this person seeking comfort, healing and support?
- How can I best provide them with this comfort, healing and support?
- How can I reassure them that they are understood and supported?

The Lord KRISHNA in his ‘GITA’ the , the the book of his conversation in the battle field with Arjun has given the sequence which results in anger. It is like this that when we pay attention to the things pleasing to senses we develop covetedness for the same and that results in to desire to have them further when any thing, or another human being or the circustances are seen by the person interested in that thing as an obstruction in the fulfilment of his desire that person develops the symptoms of anger and which may actually menifest or may remain supressed for thim being. It is further elaborated the anger converts into an state where the discretion ie intellect becomes powerless and the person not able to apply intellect and discretion get destryed. This is the whole sequence and can be fitted to find the basis of once anger.
In my experience, all the patience in the world doesn’t work with some people. They are locked in battle and intend to stay that way. I think most people are better about these types of things, I just happened to meet one that I have tried for ten years to get along with and it ain’t gonna happen!! I wish I had known it was a big joke (about the angry attitude) around town beforehand! I also wish I had advice before wasting my time like what you give in “You Never Know A Person Until”…Thanks for your efforts and keep writing!

Interesting one often feels ‘anger’ when confronted by someone elses’ angry attitude. If you are in this frame of mind/emotion dont be angry with not getting that advice or with yourself….in fact its that person’s angry attitude that causes you to be angry and then they can say it is YOU that has the angry attitude. So in simple terms dont be angry with yourself and cheerfully walk away, wipe the dust from your feet and know that your departure represents the much needed patience with yourself…you see they like being the angry attitude and feed off your responses of anger.
